Married in Mexico.

Tori and Austin's big day is almost upon us.  We are so excited that we can barely contain ourselves.  This week we will be sipping margaritas and celebrating the marriage of our dear friends.  See you next week.

Simple in Sayulita.

We were so excited to stumble across this Sayulita, Mexico wedding from the venue we are getting married at next week (!).  This cute as a button Los Angeles couple brought a small group of friends and family down to Villa Amor for a long weekend of sun, surf, and margaritas.  Villa Amor is a group of small, private, open air villas surrounded by water and jungle.  Can it get better than that?  Love the shots of the couple taken on the grounds before the wedding with all the vibrant colors as a backdrop!

Paper, Papier, Papel.

Much like our love of ribbon, tissue paper is a cheap way to make a big impression.  When we spied the use of tissue paper all over Martha Stewart's pop-up wedding, we were thrilled.  Who knew that such an inexpensive element could completely transform a little place into a spectacular wedding venue.

We're also quite smitten with papel picados...in every color of the rainbow.

A boutonniere and a bouquet made of paper, are DIY projects with major impact.

Loving this idea of taking the paper outdoors.  It's unexpected and ohhhh so cute.  We definitely think this canopy exudes a dreamy overall effect.

Another simple DIY project, a tissue paper place card holder.

And of course, the infamous Martha Stewart pom poms.  They're used everywhere...from weddings, to birthday parties, bridal showers...the list goes on.  We can't help but still be in love with them.

The Green Wedding.

We are all about "going green".  When planning your wedding, there are so many ways to incorporate eco-friendly elements.

Plan your menu around locally grown, organic, seasonal food.

Why not shop for a vintage dress (check out Shareen Vintage in LA and La Rosa Vintage in San Francisco).

Give a favor that will really last, tree seed gift boxes.

Use recycled paper for your invitations.

And when choosing a venue, you must check out the Smog Shoppe in LA.  As it’s website states it’s: “one of the most sustainable designed urban spaces in the United States.”  It also “uses less energy than a typical 2 bedroom home.”  Ohhhh and have you seen these beautiful weddings which took place there?  I don’t think there’s anything left to say….this place is breathtaking and earth friendly!

Mexico Love Birds.

In honor of one of our upcoming nuptials in Sayulita, Mexico, we're bringing you this super fun wedding from the Puerto Vallarta/Sayulita area.  We simply adore Mexico weddings and this is reviving our excitement for our trip.  The vibrant colors make such fun backgrounds for photos and are no exception here (shot at the Hotel Hafa in Sayulita).  Making this wedding even more fun is this couples use of birdcages wired for reception lighting.

Viva la Mexico!
